How a trained therapist can help you understand and manage your child’s emotional development.
The Dreaded Public Tantrum
Picture this: A mother and her son are at the supermarket. They walk by the candy aisle and her son races over to grab a bag of gummy bears. The mother tells her son, "no candy, let's go." Her son then throws himself on the ground and starts yelling and kicking.
Now people are staring and whisper to each other. The mother is angry and embarrassed. She continues to tell her son to stop and get up, all while trying not to make a scene.
Does this sound painfully familiar?
Parenting is NOT 'One Size Fits All'
Understanding why your child is having a tantrum or not listening to you may sometimes seem impossible. There are so many external factors that you have to deal with: television, video games, social media, and so many more.
But what if there was a way to get help?

ConnectFamilias understands every child is unique, from their personality to the way they learn or interact with others. Still, certain milestones that must be met to insure that the child is developing properly. That's why we believe helping a child be their best must include family-centered care with trained therapists.

How 'Parent-Child Interaction Therapy' Works
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is conducted through coaching sessions where a trained therapist observes the parent and the child's interaction in a playroom. Through a two-way mirror, the therapist can watch and provide the parent with ‘in-the-moment’ techniques through an earpiece.
This approach allows parents to manage and interact with their child without any visible external factors. The child is only interacting with the parent, and the parent is given tips on how to manage the child’s behavior.
The goal of our PCIT program is to educate and provide parents with the tools and resources they need to build stronger families.
